The 3rd Laboratory Center (LC) of Larissa was founded in 1999 with Government Gazette 1756 / 20-9-1999. The original name was 3rd School Laboratory Center (SLC) of Larissa, which was changed to 3rd LC of Larissa with Law 4118/2013 (Government Gazette A '193).

The 3rd LC. Larissa, according to the Law 1318/2015 a out the operation of the Laboratory Centers, constitutes an educational unit of the Greek Ministry of Education Research and Religious Affairs with an autonomous administrative structure. It collaborates with the 3rd Evening School, the 4th and the the 7th Vocational High Schools of Larissa, supporting the laboratory classes of all sectors and specialties that operate in them.

The administrative staff of the 3rd LC of Larissa is :

  • the Director,
  • the Deputy Director  
  • the Heads of Sectors
  • the Heads of Laboratories

There is also a council composed of teachers that have been fully or partially dispositioned to the laboratories of the 3rd LC with any working relationship.

The 3rd Laboratory Center of Larissa among others :

  • determines the number, the type and the locations of the laboratories that will be operated.
  • supervises the appropriate configuration and equipment of the laboratory premises, so that students can be supported in the laboratory practice and the teaching of the corresponding courses.
  • suggests to the Directorate of Secondary Education the training staff required for the operation of the LC and proposes the heads of laboratories, according to the recommendation of the corresponding heads of sectors.
  • ensures that the teaching staff is informed about the technology advancements in areas of interest related to the laboratories.
  • has the supervision of the preventive maintenance and repair of the equipment of the laboratories and assigns it to the teaching staff or the preservers of the Laboratory Center in order to avoid damages and accidents.
  • at the end of each school year it takes care of the stocktaking of all the laboratory equipment.
  • promotes and implements initiatives in cooperation with local government related to Vocational Training.
  • ensures that the laboratories have all the necessary specifications that ensure the safety and health of students and training staff during the laboratory exercises.

The 3rd LC of Larissa, as an independent educational unit, is funded independently, according to the number of students of all the schools it supports.

The 3rd Laboratory Center of Larissa supports the apprenticeship institution by providing the necessary training staff and the necessary logistical infrastructure for the implementation of the laboratory courses offered during the ‘apprenticeship year’ .
